How to use this template.
Make predictable future expenses visible before they turn into emergencies. Each fund has its own target, savings and contribution count.
- Add one row for each future expense or savings category.
- Enter the target, the amount already dedicated to that fund and the number of monthly contributions remaining.
- Review the combined set-aside against your budget. Round-up cents are deliberate so the plan does not underfund by a fraction of a cent.
A few useful answers.
Is this different from an emergency fund?
These rows are for expected future costs you choose to plan. Keep unexpected-expense savings in a separate emergency fund.
How many months should I enter?
Count the monthly contributions you can make before the money is needed. The tracker uses that count directly instead of guessing from a date.
