How to use this template.
Give each income source and spending category one row. The planner separates income from outflows so your remaining amount is easy to check.
- Choose a month and enter take-home income as income rows.
- Add spending, debt payments and savings allocations as outflow rows. Count each movement once.
- Fill in actual amounts as the month goes on. A blank actual amount stays unknown; enter 0 when you know it was zero.
A few useful answers.
Should savings be an expense?
Use an outflow row for the amount you allocate to savings. This is a cash-allocation plan, not an accounting statement. Do not enter the same transfer again as an expense.
What does a negative remaining amount mean?
Your entered outflows exceed income for that column. Check incomplete income rows and decide which allocations to adjust.
